On February 20th, 2016, Professor Takashi Nagatsuka, the member of The IFLA Regional Standing Committee for Asia and Oceania and the former department head of School of Literature Department of Library, Archival and Information Studies of Tsurumi University, was invited to visit Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) for a week and gave lectures.

Professor Cheng Huanwen, Assistant President of SYSU, the Librarian of SYSU Libraries and the Professor of School of Information Management, and Professor Miguel Nunes, the new Dean of School of Information Management, met with Professor Nagatsuka. They reviewed the friendly cooperation and great success of academic communications between the two schools, and had a discussion on issues including further academic communications and the exchange of students.

Since the cooperation agreement was signed in 2012, both schools have exchanged many teachers for visiting and lecturing. The School of Information Management has sent more than 30 exchange students in total to Tsurumi University in the international internship program.
