On October 12, 2015, Dr. Gil Latz, Associate Vice Chancellor for International Affairs, Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis (IUPUI), visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Prof. Yan Guangmei, Vice President of SYU, met with Dr. Gil Latz on North Campus, accompanied by Prof. Xiao Haipeng, President of The First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU, Prof. Wang Jinsong, Deputy Director of Office of Medical Education of SYSU, and Ms. Gu Wenli, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange of SYSU.

The two sides introduced the recent development of the two universities, discussed the issues for the upcoming joint meeting of the Cooperative Development Committee, and exchanged opinions on deepening and expanding collaborations in medical education and research.

Dr. Gil Latz also visited the School of Philanthropy at SYSU and met with Prof. Zhu Jiangang, Executive Dean of the School of Philanthropy. They discussed cooperation in the field of philanthropy between SYSU and IUPUI.
