Comrade Li Lanqing inspects Guangzhou Supercomputing Center

On the morning of February 18, Comrade Li Lanqing, former member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, visited Guangzhou Supercomputing Center (GSC) on East Campus of SYSU, accompanied by Chen Yunxian, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province; Luo Weiqi, Director General of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province; Wang Dong, Deputy Mayor of Guangzhou; Xu Ningsheng, President of SYSU; Chen Chunsheng, Executive Deputy Secretary and Vice President of SYSU; Li Mengfeng, Vice President of SYSU; Xia Lianghui, Assistant President of SYSU; Yuan Xuefeng, Director of GSC; and Lu Zexin, Executive Deputy Director of GSC.
Comrade Li Lanqing visits Guangzhou Supercomputing Center.
Comrade Li Lanqing listened to the report made by Yuan Xuefeng on the construction and project advancement plan of GSC in the GSC Building. Then he came to the computer room on the second floor and inspected the performance of the supercomputer. He asked about the future applications of supercomputers and hoped that Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City would promote the applications of supercomputers to benefit the citizens and make positive contributions to the economic transformation and upgrading in China.
After the visit, Comrade Li Lanqing signed his name in the signature book. President Xu Ningsheng presented a souvenir to him on behalf of the University.
