2011 International Conference of Information and Communication Technology was held on South and East Campus of Sun Yat-sen University from June 1st to June 3rd, 2011. France’s ambassador to China Ms. Sylvie Bermann, Consul-General of Guangzhou Mr. Jean Raphael Peytregnet, President of Sun Yat-sen University Xu Ningsheng and others attended the opening ceremony of the conference, in which both Ms. Bermann and President Xu Ningsheng addressed speeches.

The conference was hosted together by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of France, France Consulate in Guangzhou and Sun Yat-sen University and was organized by School of Information Science and Technology. 70 experts and scholars in fields of information and communication technology from France and other Asian countries attended the conference. They shared with each other the latest research methods and accomplishments for issues that are interdisciplinary, crossing subjects and categories, in order to promote the innovation and application of science and technology. The convocation of joint projects after the conference would further promote the scientific cooperation between France and other Asian countries.
