From Oct.1 to 6, the 8^th National University Seminar for Beijing Opera Show took place in Chongqing. Altogether, SYSU Association of Beijing Opera sent 7 people with 5 performances to participate in the show, obtaining 3 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 1 third prize and the Best Organization Award. The National University Seminar for Beijing Opera Show, held annually by the National University Beijing Opera Committee, aims to carry forward the national culture, to revitalize Beijing Opera art and to promote the development of the culture of Beijing opera in universities. The seminar was held at Sichuan International Studies University in Chongqing. More than 200 teachers and students from over 80 universities made a public appraise of the opera shows. The competition set first, second, third prize and the participation prize respectively. SYSU Association of Beijing Opera won three first prizes by the highlight (performed by Qing Huo, a teacher of Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage), (performed by Zhang Lu, 06 student) and (performed by Li Han, 07 student). These shows were well received by the judges and audience because of the high quality of performance and beautiful stage effect.

During the rehearsal and competition for this competition, the Association of Beijing Opera received sincere appreciation and great support from Standing vice Secretary Liang Qingyin, Deputy Secretary Zhu Kongjun, Vice President Chen Chunsheng, SYSU Labor Union as well as SYSU Industry Group. The leaders’ concern greatly encouraged the competing teachers and students, providing an important guarantee for SYSU Association of Beijing Opera to gain good results.
