May 14th, 2010, Guangzhou, Yangcheng Evening News: Yesterday, the opening ceremony for the training camp of registered student journalists for 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games was held at Sun Yat-sen University. 100 student journalists from universities of 29 provinces all over China will take part in the training , observation and news coverage events . They will compete for 50 quotas for registered student journalists for 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, by individual business, shows of school media and practical performance.

The 50 student journalists selected would set out for the Asian Games Venues during the competition, with major media at home and abroad reporting and interviewing. This is the first time that college students have taken part in the news coverage of major athletic events as registered journalists. ., it is also the first time that registered student journalists have appeared at the Asian Games for the 60 years.
