In the morning on May 25, the second day of the 5th National Medical College Students Clinical Skills Competition Final, 20 teams which stood out in the semi-final on the previous day, were competing in the first round of the Final in Henry Fok Gymnasium on South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University.

The task for the first station on the track was to do a physical check-up for children to learn about their growth. In order to simulate real clinical situations, the organizer of the Competition invited 17 children, who are Grade Two students from Zhixin Nanlu Primary School, to act as standardized patients (SPs). These 8-9 year olds were very serious about their tasks and very cooperative. “I’m here to assist the Competition!” said one of them proudly.

At the competition site, children were invited as “standardized patients” for medical students to do a physical check-up.

Moreover, in the second round of the Final in the afternoon, 10 adult “standardized patients”, who were medical students recruited by the organizer of the Competition, participated in the eye check-up and physical check-up tasks.
