At the end of last year, Doc. Lin Haotian and his colleagues from Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of our university encountered an eyeworm case in clinic work. Lin immediately took photos after taking over this case. During the treatment and follow-up visits, he recorded and kept complete clinical data on thelaziasis, including clinical symptoms, treating process and pictures. The elaborate and thorough clinical data convinced The Lancetto accept the research result and publish the article. Most of the Chinese scholars who have published clinical papers in top international magazines, concentrate on reviewing massive samples, mainly because of the large population in China, which provides vast patient samples and abundant data. In contrast with this, single “small researches” have been scarcely published, due to the failures in following up the case timely and keeping clinical data, which make it hard to provide complete first-hand data.
