Eight medical workers from our school, were sent for rescue operations in Qinghai province, which was organized by the Guangdong health department, named as “Qinghai earthquake relief teams of Guangdong Province”. 6 members of them had returned Guangzhou following the big forces, who were Xu Xiangdong, Cheng Chao, Li Yujie and Zheng Xunhua from the First Affiliated Hospital, and Li Jianguo and Shu Xin from the Third Affiliated Hospital. And they had received warm welcome from their relatives and functionaries and colleagues of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of SYSU, the management department of the hospital, the first Affiliated Hospital and the third Affiliated Hospital. Liao Xinbo, Deputy-director of Guangdong Health Department had been meeting them at Baiyun International Airport, who highly appraised the medical workers for their rescue operation and sense of dedication.

It is learned that another two members, Liu Anmin from Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital and Ou Zhaolan from the Third Affiliated Hospitals, had obeyed the organizational arrangement and stayed in Qinghai for continuing rescue work.
